At Inkwell, the cocktail list reads like a love letter to the classics; though if you whisper a craving, the bartender will happily improvise a new favorite.

Owner and sommelier Tyler Schaeffer curates each pour with care, from bold Manhattans to their house-made ginger beer Mule that hits just right. It’s the kind of low-lit, high-style hideaway where great drinks and easy conversation come standard. Learn more here.

🌿 Free Yard Waste Pickup Begins in Omaha

The Gist: Omaha’s fall yard waste season runs October 27 through December 5, giving residents six weeks of free curbside collection for leaves, branches, and garden debris.
No stickers are needed for paper yard waste bags during this time, though bundled brush still requires one. Materials collected will be composted through the city’s Oma-Gro program.

Why It Matters: It’s a simple, no-cost way to clear your yard and keep waste out of landfills while helping create compost for the community. Read more here.

🌤️ Rain Moves Out, Sunshine Returns for Halloween

The Gist: After a soggy stretch, Omaha’s gray skies are expected to clear just in time for trick-or-treating and Nebraska’s Blackout game. Light drizzle and fog linger just enough to keep temperatures cool in the 50s and 60s with gusty winds last weekend. But by Tuesday afternoon, the sunshine returned and it’s here to stay through Halloween.

Why It Matters: Families and football fans can look forward to a dry, pleasant few days ahead after the drizzle and chill. Read more here.
