On March 21st, Saturday, the shop hosts an Ostara celebration from 2 PM to 4 PM. It is a relaxed afternoon featuring a community circle, seasonal crafts, and food to welcome the spring.

🏀 Student-athletes step up during roadway mishap

The Gist: Omaha women's basketball players Olivia Borsutzki and Esra Kurban jumped into action Tuesday when a sinkhole opened on a street near campus. While others filmed the accident or drove past, these two students left their car to help the stranded drivers. Their athletic director shared footage of the scene, praising the pair for their quick thinking and willingness to step in.

🐾 A Paw-sitive Addition to Boys Town

The Gist: Poppy, a gentle Bernedoodle in training, is now visiting Boys Town National Research Hospital three times a week. Donated in memory of a local teenager, she currently spends time in the inpatient psych unit to offer a sense of calm and normalcy. Once her certification is complete, she will support patients during medical procedures like IV placements and tests.

Why It Matters: Poppy provides a much-needed distraction and emotional boost for local families and staff navigating the stress of hospital stays. Look for Poppy to begin visiting patients in their private rooms once she passes her final training tests.

🐾 Penny (also known as BT) has mastered the art of the house cat

Once a farm kitten, this two-year-old domestic short hair is a medium-sized bundle of playfulness with a legendary purr motor. House-trained and great with children and other cats, she is ready for a predictable home life. Her adoption fee is $75 through Muddy Paws.
