🍷 Secret Sips, Old-Market Magic
✨ Holiday Fun Around Every Corner

🎅 A Steakhouse Wrapped in Christmas Magic

Stepping into Brother Sebastian’s feels a little like wandering into a secret monastery that just so happens to smell like perfectly seared ribeye.
The fireplaces are already roaring for the season, the “Brothers” in their robes glide between abbey-inspired rooms, and every corner flickers with Christmas lights that make the place feel warmly time-warped.
Locals know it as the spot for slow dinners and celebratory toasts: prime rib carved just right, shrimp scampi that deserves its own fan club, and a Baked Alaska that arrives like a theatrical finale. It’s nostalgic, a touch quirky, and proudly Omaha in all the best ways.
⛄ It’s not too late for lights

You know you need Holiday Light Rescue when your block’s glowing but your porch is... not.
Good news: there’s still time to fix that.
• Elegant, cozy holiday designs
• Zero ladder time for you
• Full service from install to takedown

🎁 The Art of Delightful Detours

City Limits has that lived-in Old Market magic. The moment you’re browsing, you’re surrounded by cheeky cards, offbeat books, soft plushies, kitchen odds and ends, plus a whole wall of Omaha postcards and gifts that feel genuinely thoughtful.
Folks behind the counter are the kind who actually enjoy chatting and pointing you toward something fun. I pop in often, usually planning to “just look” and leaving with a couple of surprises anyway. Ready to give the most unique gifts this year?

❄️ Omaha Crowns Its New Snowplow Stars

The Gist: Omaha has picked the winning names in this winter’s snowplow contest, and we leaned into the fun. Snowbi Wan Kenobi and Big LePlowski topped the voter approved list, and both trucks will hit the streets later this season. Public Works says the lighthearted tradition does not change their focus on keeping roads clean and safe.
Why It Matters: Neighbors will soon see the newly named plows in action, and you can even track their routes through the city’s snowplow tracker.
🏡 New Homes Bring Fresh Start for 85 Omaha Families

The Gist: Habitat for Humanity of Omaha marked a big moment this week as the first phase of the Bluestem Prairie neighborhood wrapped up in North Omaha. The project replaces the long-vacant Wintergreen apartment site with 85 newly built homes and 15 renovations, giving families a path to affordable homeownership. Two families received their keys at Tuesday’s celebration, and work on the next 64 homes is set to begin next year.
Why It Matters: The project transforms a troubled property into a stable, long-term neighborhood for Omaha families. Phase two construction is expected to start in 2026.
