Step inside Omaha’s grand old Union Station for The Durham Museum’s Hallo-weekend, Oct. 25–26. Kids 12 and under get in free, costumes encouraged! Wander through the Haunted Train, the Cobweb Caboose, and Halloween games on The Platform.

🌬️ First Frost Possible as Cooler Air Moves In

The Gist: Eastern Nebraska is in for a chilly week ahead, with cold air sweeping in and a chance for the season’s first frost. After a mild Monday in the 60s, temperatures are expected to dip into the 30s and low 40s by midweek, bringing frosty mornings and possible light rain.

🦘 Tiny Face, Big News at Lincoln Children’s Zoo

The Gist: A Matschie’s tree kangaroo joey has been spotted peeking out from its mother Judie’s pouch at the Lincoln Children’s Zoo. Born in April, the little one is now about 26 weeks old and just beginning to explore the world beyond its cozy home with dad Bexley nearby.

Why It Matters: Matschie’s tree kangaroos are an endangered species from Papua New Guinea, so each new birth helps preserve this rare and remarkable animal for future generations. Read more here.

Meet Jubilee, a six-year-old Boxer mix with a heart as bright as her name.

This brown merle beauty may have a little silver in her fur, but her spirit is pure sunshine. She loves her daily workouts, enjoys a good game of fetch, and never says no to a cuddle session.
