✨ A New Home For Omaha’s Hardworking Women

The Gist: Omaha officially welcomed Legacy Collective, our city’s first women-focused membership club, which opened April 1 after five years of planning. Founded by Dr. Sasha Shillcutt, the space features a relaxing spa-like area and a Sanctuary Suite where members like Cara Kirsch can tackle a week’s worth of work in hours.

Why It Matters: This club gives the innovators and leaders of our community a rare place to prioritize their own rest and connection. It’s a dedicated home base designed to support the women who spend so much of their time supporting everyone else.

🎭 The Rose Theater Just Premiered a Play That Omaha Actually Made

The Gist: "The Great Race: The Story of the Chinese Zodiac" opened April 17 at The Rose Theater to strong early response. The world-premiere play was written by Omaha playwright Wai Yim and directed by Alan Muraoka, a two-time Emmy Award winner and longtime Sesame Street director. It features stunning puppetry from the same company behind Finding Nemo and Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer stage productions, and grew directly out of The Rose's Sharing Our Stories program, which lifts underrepresented voices in Omaha's theater community.

Why It Matters: Omaha didn't just host a touring show this time. It built one from the ground up, with a local playwright, a nationally recognized director, and a story rooted in community. The run continues through May 3, with multiple performances each weekend.

🍕 Blistered crusts and neon rooftop vibes

6201 Maple St, Omaha, NE

Little Riot has carved out a distinct niche on Maple Street, evolving from a smokehouse into a wood-fired pizzeria with a serious personality.

The menu leans into clever mashups, where thin, blistered crusts meet bold Asian-inspired toppings like Crab Rangoon or Bánh Mì. Downstairs feels intentional and grounded, while the neon-soaked rooftop transitions from a sun-drenched hangout to a high-energy party.

It is a neighborhood staple that doesn't take itself too seriously.

👗 Timeless threads found on a historic corner

1102 Howard St, Omaha, NE

Finding the right gift before Mother's Day becomes much simpler at Nouvelle Eve, a historic corner, where the racks are currently filled with breezy crochet and crisp linens.

The staff makes browsing through the newest Varley arrivals and curated designers a genuinely helpful experience. Since the shop returned to its original industrial roots, it continues to focus on quality pieces that offer confidence.

Find something fresh for her that stays stylish well beyond the weekend!
