Spring feels like it finally decided to stick around, and Omaha is wasting no time getting back out there. Patios are filling up, events are stacking the calendar, and honestly, it just feels good to have options again.

This Scoopβs lineup has a little bit of everything, from a long-awaited restaurant reopening to Easter events that are already buzzing. If you have been waiting for the right weekend to get back out, this might be it.

π A polished return to our favorite corner of Provence

569 N 155th Plaza, Omaha, NE
After a brief hibernation for a thoughtful interior refresh, Le Voltaire is officially opening its doors again on April 1. Just in time for Easter weekend, the bistro returns with its signature blend of white-linen elegance and neighborhood warmth.
Whether youβre leaning into the buttery richness of their classic Escargot or the delicate comfort of the Blanquette de Veau, the pace here remains refreshingly unhurried. It is the perfect local landing spot for a lingering Sunday brunch or a celebratory spring dinner that feels worlds away from the 155th Plaza.

π§ββοΈ Cultivating a stronger sense of self through movement

222 N 114th St, Omaha, NE
Spring is always a natural time to reset, and the energy at Lotus House of Yoga feels particularly vibrant right now.
Drawn to the rhythmic, music-driven focus of their beat-based cycle classes or the steady grounding of a Yin session? There is a palpable sense of community here. Upcoming weekend workshops offer deep dives into mobility and myofascial release, while evening sound healings provide a quiet space to simply breathe.
It is the kind of place where the teachers know your name and the collective atmosphere makes stepping out of your comfort zone feel a lot more like coming home.

π Omaha is a New Home Base for Gen Z

The Gist: Omaha has officially claimed its spot as a national leader for young homeowners, ranking fourth in the country for Gen Zers planting roots. According to a new study by RentCafe, the number of 20-something homeowners in our metro area skyrocketed: multiplying by 44 times in just five years. By 2023, 9,156 Gen Zers had officially traded rent checks for mortgages.
Why It Matters: This surge represents a real "human" win: young neighbors are finding the financial stability to buy their first front doors and commit to our local community. For Omaha, this means a fresh infusion of energy and a long-term investment in our neighborhoods that keeps our city vibrant and growing.
π A New Rhythm for the High School Halls

The Gist: Things are shaking up at Central and Westview High Schools with a shift to a "modified block schedule" starting in the 2026-27 school year. This change is specifically designed to weave extra reading and writing support into every subject, giving kids more consistent face-time with their instructors throughout the week.
Why It Matters: By slowing down for "deeper learning" midweek, Central and Westview are betting on our kids' ability to master the basics of communication, ensuring every Eagle and Wolverine graduates with the sharp skills they need to lead our community.
