🎭 “The Wiz” Brings Broadway Magic to Omaha

The Gist: For the first time in 50 years, The Wiz is hitting the road again, landing at Omaha’s Orpheum Theatre Nov. 18-23. The iconic musical reimagines The Wizard of Oz through a Black American lens, with Sheherazade Holman shining as Glinda in her national Broadway debut. Audiences can expect powerhouse vocals, dazzling energy, and a fresh take on a timeless story.

✈️ UNO Flying Mavericks Earn 2nd at Regional Flight Competition

The Gist: The University of Nebraska at Omaha’s Flying Mavericks soared to new heights, claiming 2nd place overall at the 2025 Region VI SAFECON in St. Louis and earning their 17th straight trip to nationals. The 14-member team also took home the prestigious Safety Award, led by captains Tyler Thieman and Trevor Denker with standout performances across flight and ground events.
