🛠️ Help Omaha Name Its Snow Plows

The Gist: The City of Omaha is adding a little fun to winter prep by asking residents to help name two snow plows. Now through December 5, you can vote online for your favorite among seven playful options, including Big Red Sled, Plowmaha, and Snowbi Wan Kenobi. The poll is on the Public Works website, and the winning names will be announced December 8.

🌉 Harney Street Bridge Set to Reopen This Week

The Gist: The Harney Street bridge is ready to welcome drivers again, giving downtown its through street back after 11 months of construction. The bridge was already due for a replacement, and the streetcar project helped speed that work along. Westbound Farnam at 10th is also expected to open by Thanksgiving, which should ease the drive near Gene Leahy Mall. Lane closures on 10th between Farnam and Harney will continue for about four weeks, with traffic still moving in both directions.
